"We flew into Yasawa Island Resort from Nadi. My husband and I were waiting for this honeymoon trip all year long. The flight itself felt like we were flying to heaven, going through white clouds and the glistening blue sea beneath us. As we made our approach to the island we were in awe of the spectacle, which was Yasawa Island. We were greeted by the very friendly Yasawa Island Resort staff (Manasa and Jo) and we were immediately made to feel welcomed. The resort itself was vibrant and filled with breath taking scenery. The room that we both anxiously anticipated to see in person was more than what we expected. The food at the resort was to die for and amazingly great. We were very fortunate to not only experience the resort lifestyle but we were also able to visit one of the local villages to gain a greater respect of the natural Fijian culture. Overall, we had a blast at the resort and we miss all the wonderful staff. Huge thank you to the management team (Coco and Brent), Jo, Manasa,Teca, Lei, Agai, Jona and everyone else that made our stay and experience excellent. "We visited Yasawa for our honeymoon. It is the true pacific island experience. There are picture postcard perfect white sandy beaches and turquoise water with wonderful snorkelling right off the beach in front of the bures. We loved Yasawa because it is a natural resort, no airs and graces, just a genuinely beautiful island, with huge bures, a lovely large open air dining and bar area for sunset viewing over the beach. We loved the outdoor shower in our bure overlooking the beach and never used the inside shower during our stay! There are only 18 bures so it gives you a pretty nice intimate experience. The food is spectacular. Truly a wonderful dining experience under the guidance of Scott the head chef. We felt so spoilt. Every meal was special; so many wonderful tastes! The resort is staffed by many locals from the neighbouring village and we felt their warmth and hospitality to be genuine. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy if you so desire; from a trip to the blue lagoon caves on the southern part of the island, snorkelling off the resort and at various beaches and bays, private beach picnics where you are deposited by speedboat with lunch so you can enjoy your own piece of heaven for a few hours, walking, tennis, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, fishing etc. Or just relaxing in the peace and quiet of the resort and enjoying your huge bure, with its own beach shack and sun lounger. Or you can go and visit the delightful Aggie at the Spa who has wonderful healing hands for a massage or facial or other beauty treatments. The resort is a combination of ‘rustic chic’ and ‘traditional elegance’. You won’t find gold plated taps or perfectly manicured lawns as in other 5* resorts, but you will have a wonderful Yasawa experience of paradise, and if you want to go to heaven, then stay in the very private Honeymoon bure with plunge pool on its own stretch of beach just north of the resort.
