The new management at Yasawa Island Resort - well, Erin, as we just missed James - is fantastic with a passion for the people of the island, and taking great care of the guests.The food was fantastic - excellent quantities and balance: we really enjoyed not being tempted by groaning buffet tables. The staff were lovely and very well trained by Manasa and Wati. And the spa with Aggie was a delight.
The accommodation was comfortable and generous. The bed especially was VERY comfortable. Everything was clean and towels were replaced when requested. Being able to snorkel over varied reef just off the main beach was fantastic.The location is beautiful - the best that we have experienced in Fiji - and I assume that some of the criticisms that have been made are resulting from the remotenes, with people unable to accept some compromises: whatever, the trade off was worth it for us. We didn't want a resort that could have been located anywhere in the world, but one such as Erin described:
"The resort is not slick, sexy and modern we would describe it as romantic and unpretentious.The island is a natural beauty and we like to try to keep the resort as much in balance with the local environment as possible"
All in all we look forward to visiting again.
